Cancel GoDaddy Privacy Registration

Did you find the free privacy registration with your new domain an offer that you couldn't pass up?  Now you're trying to renew your domain and finding that privacy registration for the next year will be $8.95, and there's no box to uncheck.  Don't panic; there's an easy way out of it.  But it requires that you go to Domains By Proxy first, the company that GoDaddy uses for all private regs.  Note that your DBP login info is different than GD's.  Click the icon to the far right of the domain you wish to cancel private registration for and in a few minutes you'll be renewing your domain for half price.  And to take even more off your bill use a promo code from RetailMeNot, the most reliable coupon site.  I just renewed a single domain for $7.66 instead of $10.48 with the code OK412.  These codes change all the time, so if it doesn't work - like it's been over a month since this post - just go find another.
