899COMNET
It's been a little while since I've been here. I've been spending all my free time at Domain Sherpa and Reinbeast.com lately. Just trying to do too many things at once. I'm sure you can relate. I was slightly more active when I had my domains at GoDaddy because there used to be a number of coupon codes to talk about. Then that changed and I was wasting hours upon hours and saving nothing. For an incredible stretch there were no renewal codes that worked, so this past year I've been transferring everything to Name.com. Transfers don't need codes to bring them to their lowest price; they already are, so I haven't had any to share...until today. I just got a Name.com email with the code 899COMNET, which will bring your new registration of a .com or .net down to $8.99. I don't know if the code applies to multiple registrations since I haven't had renewals at this registrar yet, but if so then just register one and then another in a separate transaction.
The email also mentioned Verisign's #InternetOfficial domain contest, which I heard about last week at Domain Sherpa. If you're going to buy a truly unique name then it only makes sense to enter for free to win a share of $35,000 in prizes. The promo code is valid through February 18 and the contest consists of three monthly entry periods (5 entries per period) until until April 30, 2015. So if the code expires before you come up with a great idea, there will be plenty of time to find another. I'm sure I've had at least one interesting domain idea (out of hundreds) in the past that I could enter. Now, where the heck did I put that notebook?
